Seattle - Seattle Thunderbirds goalie Jacob DeSerres made 35 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped three Everett Silvertips shooters in the shootout to lead the T-Birds to a 3-2 victory over the Tips in front of 4,157 at KeyArena Saturday night.

DeSerres stopped Vitali Karmanov, Kyle Beach and Zach Hamill in the shootout. He made 35 saves on 37 shots and improved his record to 5-2-0-1.

Jeremy Boyer was the first Seattle shooter in the shootout and was unsuccessful. Bud Holloway, the second Seattle shooter, beat Everett goalie Leland Irving five-hole to put the T-Birds up 1-0 in the shootout. Irving denied Lindsay Nielsen, the T-Birds third shooter. DeSerres had to make stop Hamill after Nielsen's miss to preserve the win for the T-Birds.

Shayne Harper put the Silvertips up 1-0 at 2:56 of the first period. Graham Potuer and Jonathan Harty had the assists.

Seattle tied the game 1-1 at 9:28 of the first on the fifth goal of the year from Ian McKenzie. David Richard brought the puck into the Everett zone on the left side on a 2-on-2 break with Jeremy Boyer. After crossing the blue line Richard cut towards the center of the ice then made a drop pass to McKenzie trailing the play. McKenzie carried the puck into the left circle and put a wrist shot on goal. Boyer was screening Everett goalie Leland Irving and McKenzie's shot beat the keeper over the glove side.

Everett (14-12-0-2) went in front 2-1 with a power-play goal at 15:08 of the first by Taylor Ellington. Clayton Bauer and Vitali Karamnov had the assists.

The Tips outshot the T-Birds 17-6 in the first period.

Everett outshot Seattle 5-2 in a scoreless second period and led 22-8 in total shots going into the second intermission.

The T-Birds tied the game 2-2 37 seconds into the third period. Bud Holloway brought the puck up ice on a 3-on-2 break. After crossing the blue line Holloway passed across the high slot to Greg Scott. Scott put a slap shot on net that Irving stopped but the rebound dropped into the crease. Lindsay Nielsen crashed the net and slammed the puck past Irving for his sixth goal of the year.

Both teams had 13 shots on goal in the third period.

Seattle and Everett each had two shots on goal in the overtime.
