Utica Comets News Release
Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has announced that the club has signed forward Kellan Lain to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Lain, 26, has appeared in 14 games this season with the Iowa Wild and collected two goals and an assist along with 17 penalty minutes. Lain spent the 2013-14 season, and 10 games during the 2014-15 season, with the Comets where he recorded 20 points (7-13-20) with the club before being traded to Oklahoma City in exchange for Will Acton. Lain appeared in two games for the Barons before he suffered a season-ending injury.
Overall he has collected 23 points (9-14-23) and 176 penalty minutes in 102 American Hockey League games with the Comets, Oklahoma City Barons, and Iowa Wild.
The 6'6", 222-pound center played in nine games for the Vancouver Canucks during the 2013-14 season, and scored once.
