"Katrina Aid '05", Condors care-a-van

Tuesday, September 20th KUZZ 107.9 and The Prime Cut are sponsoring "Katrina Aid ‘05", a Cajun-style dinner and family activity benefiting the American Red Cross and victims of Hurricane Katrina. Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd, Public Relations Assistant Angelese Reed and Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst will be in attendance. Condors merchandise and tickets will be among the items up for bid in the silent auction. The event will be held at Stramler Park, 3805 Chester Ave, from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and can be purchased by calling The Prime Cut at 831-1413.

Wednesday, September 21st Condors Care-a-Van and Goodwill Industries will travel to Tehachapi. At noon, Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond and Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst will speak at the Kiwanis Club luncheon at Cattlemen's restaurant, located at 860 E. Tehachapi. Following lunch, the Condors and Goodwill Industries will head over to the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Parks District located at 490 West D Street, between Mill Street and Mountain View Road. From 1:30 -3:30 pm, Goodwill Industries will accept donations while Colonel Claw'd signs autographs and take pictures. The Condors inflatable Slapshot game will also be set-up for kids of all ages. Thursday, September 22nd The Bakersfield Condors will host a job fair from 5:00- 6:30 pm at the Holiday Inn Select located at 801 Truxtun Ave. Positions open include game-day operations and inside sales. No appointment is necessary; applicants will fill out an application and be interviewed by Condors front office staff.

Friday, September 23rd Colonel Claw'd will attend a Hawaiian themed awards assembly at Walter Stern Middle School from 12:00 -1:45 pm. Stern Middle School is located at 2551 Morning Drive.

Thursday, September 15th Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond, Assistant Coach Mark Pederson, Condors Center Kevin St. Jacques and former Condor Dennis Shiryaev joined law enforcement and military officials in serving dinner to guests at the American Red Cross "Hometown Heroes" dinner that raised funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Condors Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst and Director of Ticket Administration Shannon Armstrong also attended the event, sponsored by the American Red Cross - Kern Chapter and the Holiday Inn Select.

Saturday, September 17th Bakersfield Police Activities League held their annual "Hometown Heroes" charity dinner at the Petroleum Club. Condors President Matthew Riley, Director of Ticket Administration Shannon Armstrong, and Condors veteran Kevin St. Jacques attended the event that raised money for the educational, developmental and sports programs sponsored by BPAL. Close to $50,000 was raised for the BPAL Youth Center and youth programs through live and silent auctions that included Condors merchandise and tickets.
