Wildcatters seek interns for upcoming season

(September 19, 2005) - The Texas Wildcatters announced today they are accepting applications for several intern positions for the upcoming hockey season.

The Wildcatters offer a unique opportunity to introduce college students to careers in the sports industry and to work and promote Wildcatters' hockey. If you are a college student in the Golden Triangle with initiative, dedication, a strong work ethic, and a sincere interest in athletics, then you are encouraged to apply.

Internships Available: Media/Communications, Marketing/Promotions, Public Relations/Community Relations

Dates of Internship: Fall Semester 2005, Spring Semester 2006

Salary: All internship positions are unpaid, however, course credits may be earned.

Hours: Interns would need to work under a flexible schedule. Interns will need to be available for games/events that are most often scheduled in the evenings and/or weekends. Ten office hours per week and minimum 18 games are required during the regular season. The Texas Wildcatters hockey season runs from mid-October through April; however, there may be some possible extension with playoffs.

Requirements: Must be a registered student in an accredited college with a major in business, broadcast journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations.

Qualifications/Responsibilities: Should include knowledge of sports, general computer skills, telephone experience and good writing skills are a must. The individual must be responsible and dependable. The Texas Wildcatters regard the interns as vital components in the success of the overall organization. The efforts and contributions of the interns are heavily depended upon, and it is essential that each intern recognize the importance of a strong commitment to the entire program.
