Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that forward Jason Sessa has agreed to terms for the 2005-2006 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6'1", 200-pound native of Long Island, New York was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 4th round (#86 overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. A veteran of 111 AHL games with St. John's, Cincinnati, Springfield, and Bridgeport, he has been nearly a point-a-game player in the ECHL with 137 points in 138 games. His best season in the ECHL came in 2000-2001 with South Carolina when he scored 34 goals and 30 assists in 58 games as the Stingrays won the Kelly Cup. He was chosen as an all-star that year and was voted an all-star in the UHL the last two seasons behind back-to-back 30+ goal seasons in Quad City and Elmira.

"Jason is a consistent and proven goal scorer at this level who has good experience at the next level", said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron. "With the new rule changes, he should be a premier goal scorer in our league. He's very gifted on the power play and has a great shot, so we'll definitely be looking for consistent scoring from him this year."

Prior to his pro career, Sessa played three seasons for Lake Superior State University where he was tied for the team lead in goals with 22 in 1996-97. That same year he was named second team All-Conference in the Central Collegiate Athletic Association.

Opening night is Friday, October 28th, versus the Fresno Falcons at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2005-06 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS for visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
