Kelowna Rockets News Release
The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, taking both games from the Rockets this weekend by the same score.
The Blazers scored with 39 seconds to go in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie and earn the win after Kelowna had erased a 2-0 deficit with two third period goals.
The loss drops the Rockets record to 44-18-3-0 on the season.
The Blazers led 1-0 after the first and 2-0 after the second period before the Rockets got on the board in the third period, scoring twice to tie the game.
Tomas Soustal and Tyson Baillie had third period power play markers to tie the game, but Kamloops would score the winner with just 39 seconds left in the game.
The Rockets outshot Kamloops for the second straight night, outshooting the Blazers 46-28 in the game. Blazers goalie Connor Ingram was named first star for the second night in a row.
The Rockets have a pair of home games this coming week as Kelowna will host two WHL BC Division rivals at Prospera Place. The Rockets meet Prince George on Wednesday before hosting the Blazers again on Friday.
