Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants dropped a 5-1 decision at the hands of the league-leading Victoria Royals on Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum. Trevor Cox scores the Giants' lone goal. It was his 299th career WHL point.

The Royals opened the scoring 59 seconds into the game when Jack Walker scored on Giants goaltender Jake Morrissey who made his second straight start in goal. Cox answered back for the G-Men a minute later when he tallied a power play marker with a one-timer from the right circle. Later, Victoria reestablished their lead when Ryan Peckford scored from off the left wing.

The Royals extended their lead in the middle stanza. Dante Hannoun scored on a power play and added another goal while the teams were playing 4-on-4 to put the Royals up 4-1.

Hannoun completed his natural hat-trick in the third period on a great individual effort as he backhanded the puck over Morrissey's right shoulder. Morrissey made 26 saves in the loss.

The Giants are back in action on Saturday night when they travel to Victoria to take on the Royals at 7:00pm.
