Washington, PA â The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, lost the first game of a six game home stand to the Kalamazoo Kings 15-9 in front of the seventh straight sellout crowd (3502) at Falconi Field.
Delvin Haskell went 4 for 6 for the Kings with 4 RBI, 2 runs scored and executed the first steal of home against the Wild Things in franchise history. Washington Trinity graduate Denny McGee returned to his hometown and earned the win. Matt McDonnell took the loss for the Wild Things.
Haskell, Darryl Blaze and Tory Haven paced the Kalamazoo attack with 11 of the Kings 19 hits. Haven added a home run for Kalamazoo. Jay Coakley and Josh Loggins hit home runs for Washington. Doug Garcia added three hits for the Wild Things.
The Wild Things meet the Kings in the second game of their three day series Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Joe Charboneau Bobble Head Doll.
