
Rascals Come from Behind to Defeat Rockford, 6-4

River City Rascals News Release
The Rascals scored four 8th inning runs, including three off of losing pitcher Joe Kjose (1-3) as River City topped Rockford 6-5.
Zack Riera started off the 8th with a triple and came in to score on a wild pitch to make it a 4-3 game. An RBI single from Matt Gecan tied the game at 4, while the Rascals took the lead on an infield RBI single by Bryan Weiss. River City added another run on a sacrifice fly by Adonis Smith.
Brian Morgan (1-1) pitched 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to earn the win, while Wes Jaillet pitched the final 1 2/3 innings to get his 3rd save.
The Rascals belted 13 hits in the game, including three from Brian Fuess, and two apiece from Riera, Brian Hopkins, and Bryan Weiss. Riera added two RBI's on a single in the 5th inning to put the Rascals on the scoreboard.

The Rascals are back in action on Monday night at Hughes Ballpark as the Kenosha Mammoths come to town for a three-game series.
Monday's game starts at 7:05pm and the first 1,000 fans will receive a letter opener courtesy of Office Depot. In addition, it's 50 cent Hot Dog night--courtesy of Steve Chanez.
Tuesday and Wedneday's games also start at 7:05 and they'll be capped off with big Fireworks shows!
