Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce the team will continue their season-long seven-game home stand this weekend games two-four of the stretch this Friday-Sunday.
Fresh off the all-star break the K-Wings will host the Florida Everblades this Friday, January 28th with a 7:30 p.m. on Longbranch Saloon & Eatery Viva Las Vegas Night, featuring a $300 Elvis costume contest. The game on the January 28th will also be a Frugal Fan Friday, featuring $1 beers and $1 hot dogs.
On Saturday, January 29th, the K-Wings will welcome the Gwinnett Gladiators for a 7:30 p.m. encounter at Wings Stadium during the 3rd Annual McDonald's Golden Ice Game, presented by McDonald's and WIN 98.5 FM, featuring a performance from national recording artist the Mulch Brothers.
While the K-Wings already wear McDonald's themed warm-up jerseys during the entire season, the team will also don a special McDonald's themed jersey for the night. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off with a portion of the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House of West Michigan.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. (RMHC=C2é) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. RMHC fulfills its mission by creating innovative, effective programs that address targeted needs, and by supporting these programs and other activities conducted by its local chapters worldwide. RMHC also awards grants to other nonprofit children's organizations that positively impact the health and well being of children around the world.
As fans enter the game, all kids 12 and under will receive a FREE coupon for a McDonald's Happy Meal (while supplies last), which will be redeemable at any of the McDonald's in Southwest Michigan. Any fans that purchase $20 or more of raffle tickets at the game will also receive a FREE coupon for a McDonald's Extra Value Meal.
Kalamazoo will finish the week on Sunday, January 30th with a 4 p.m. face-off versus Gwinnett. Sunday is Family Hockey Day in the 'Zoo and Faith Night.
During all Sunday home games kids (12 and under) eat FREE. This Sunday, the first 500 kids will also receive a FREE draw string backpack courtesy of Little Caesars. Hockey moms, who bring a child with a hockey jersey, will receive a FREE bag of popcorn.
In honor of Faith Night, the K-Wings will welcome recording artist, Please Promise, who will perform two shows at 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m. in the Wings Stadium Complex's Cube Viewing Area.
As part of the 2 p.m. concert, K-Wing forward Sam Ftorek and Executive Director of Newman's Bookshop, Steve Goffeney will speak to the youth and church groups about their faith.
The performance from Please Promise is presented by Farrell Audio and Video, Minor Field Insurance and Red Arrow Ministries. While the 2 p.m. concert is intended for youth and church groups, the 7p.m. show is FREE for the general public.
Following the game on January 30th the K-Wings will conduct a post-game skate with the players. Admission is $5; skate rental, if needed, is $3.
Single-game tickets for all regular season home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, call Wings Stadium Ticket Office during regular business hours at (269) 345-5101.
