
K-Wings Archibald Makes NHL Debut

Kalamazoo, MI- Yesterday was a huge night for former Kalamazoo Wings forward Darren Archibald. A third-year pro, Archibald made his NHL debut for the Vancouver Canucks playing 8:01 minutes and receiving two shots on net against the St. Louis Blues. By playing last night, Archibald becomes the 519th ECHL player to see game action in the NHL and the third player (Joel Martin, Jeremy Duchesne) coached by Nick Bootland to be called up to the NHL.
Archibald, who was a member of the K-Wings from 2011-2013, recorded 56 points (20 goals, 36 assists) in 67 games in his time with Kalamazoo. During the 2011-12 season, Archibald received the team's Rookie of the Year award by posting 43 points (14 goals, 29 assists).
The K-Wings will drop the puck for their home opener tonight, Saturday, October 26th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the IceMen during the 10th Annual Orange Ice Game presented by Meijer, WWMT and WZUU (92.5 FM). Saturday marks the 40th home opener in team history.
As part of the yearly Orange Ice tradition, fans are encouraged to dress in costume for Halloween festivities including the K-Wings Best Costume Contest. The K-Wings will award an adult and child winner, with each receiving $100.
Tickets for all 36 K-Wings home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including _www.ticketmaster.com_ (http://www.ticketmaster.com/) or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays. Regular season ticket prices for home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and the New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more. Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan. These plans, along with full-season and group ticket packages may be ordered through the K-Wings Sales office by calling (269) 743-6011.
