K-Wings Announce Promotional Schedule And New Slogan

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce their upcoming promotional schedule and that tickets for its entire 2010-2011 home schedule will go on sale to the public this Saturday, October 2nd at 10 a.m. at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Tying into the promotional schedule this season will be the K-Wings new slogan "Come for the Party, Stay for the Game." Next week during K-Wings Live, presented by Miller Lite, the K-Wings will unveil a new jingle that will coincide with the slogan.

Highlighting the K-Wings' promotional schedule this season will be the return of "Frugal Fan Friday." Fans will the opportunity to purchase $1 beer and $1 hot dogs during every Friday night home game all season long.

New to the schedule this season will be "Family Hockey Day in the 'ZOO", during every Sunday home game. Kids 12 and under will eat FREE and the first 500 kids will receive a special giveaway item. Following all Sunday home contests, fans will also have the opportunity to skate alongside their favorite K-Wings player right out on the Wings Stadium ice.

This season the K-Wings will host five games on Wednesday's with two contests, both versus the Cincinnati Cyclones on March 23rd and March 30th occurring on Education Day, presented by RX Optical. The remaining "hump day" contests will be College nights, which will feature half off at Old Burdick's and Wings Concessions with a valid College ID.

The K-Wings game will be "thee" place to be on Saturday nights this season because of the newly unveiled Saturday "Celebrity" Series. Every Saturday during the regular season, the K-Wings will have a "Celebrity" series. To find out what celebrities will be making their way to Vanrick Drive, keep logged into www.kwings.com, as well as the K-Wings social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. This Saturday "Celebrity" Series is sure to be full of fun and surprises.

Other year long promotions include, Win/Win Nights, presented by WNWN. When the K-Wings win on select "Win/Win" Nights all fans in attendance win a FREE Ticket to a Wednesday Game.

Also this season, your hometown team is encouraging fans to dress for the occasion. In other words, dress your best to win cold hard cash! The K-Wings will be hosting $300 Costume Contests on October 23rd for Halloween, December 17th for the Ugliest Holiday Sweater, January 28th for Elvis Night, February 25th for Disco Fever Night, March 6th for Star Wars Day, and April 2nd for our April Fools Ultimate Fan Contest. The regular season party starts on Saturday, October 23rd, as the K-Wings host the defending Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, during the 7th Annual Orange Ice Game featuring a Miller Lite indoor pre-game tailgate party with live music from The Bronk Bros., along with kids games and fun, as well as the raising of the 2009-10 North Division banner. The game will also feature a Halloween jersey auction, trick-or-treating and the $300 costume contest parade. All fans will receive a FREE magnetic schedule courtesy of Meijer.

Looking for something to do with the family during the holidays, then spend Thanksgiving Night at Wings Stadium, as the K-Wings host Greenville Road Warriors during the first-ever Old Burdick's Thanksgiving Night Game.

In December, the Elmira Jackals come to town for the 9th Annual New Year's Eve Bash presented by COOL 101 FM and WWMT.

A Wings Stadium favorite, the ZOOperstars!, will return to the complex on Sunday, January 23rd during the "Family Hockey Day in the ZOO" series, as the K-Wings host the Jackals. A week later on Saturday, January 29th, the Gwinnett Gladiators invade Wings Stadium during the 3rd Annual Golden Ice Game presented by McDonald's, and WNWN. And the 11th Annual Pink Ice Game presented by WWMT and WKFR will occur on Monday, February 14th versus the Wheeling Nailers.

One of the most historic traditions in hockey will continue on Thursday, March 17th, as the K-Wings host the South Carolina Stingrays during the 30th Annual "World Famous" Fifth-Third Bank

St. Patrick's Day Green Ice Game presented by WWMT and WRKR.

The K-Wings will conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 2nd versus the Jackals on Fan Appreciation and Player Awards Night

Single-game tickets for all of the K-Wings 36 regular season home games will go on-sale this Saturday, October 2nd starting at 10 a.m.

Besides tickets going on-sale, the K-Wings will also give fans a sneak peak of the upcoming season this Wednesday, October 6th with the 2nd Annual Red and Blue Showcase and Shootout at Wings Stadium.

Wednesday's showcase, which will commence at 7 p.m. and will highlight the third day of the K-Wings training camp. Admission for the showcase is FREE and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The K-Wings will get their first taste of preseason game action on Friday, October 8th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Wings Stadium versus the Toledo Walleye. Tickets for that preseason game will also go on sale this Saturday, October 2nd for the low price of $5. All fans that are in attendance for the K-Wings only home preseason contest will receive one FREE bag of popcorn.

The K-Wings and Walleye will meet again on Saturday, October 9th for a 6 p.m. encounter at the Huntington Center in Toledo at 6 p.m.

Then it's time to get down to business, as Kalamazoo begins the regular season on the road with a division battle against the Walleye on October 22nd.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games range in price from $9.90-$14.90 for adults and only $6.90 for kids ages 12 and under. All tickets that are purchased for any K-Wings game the day of game increased by $1 per ticket. Starting on Saturday, October 2nd, fans will be able to purchase individual game tickets at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more.
