Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the United Hockey League and 2005-06 Central Division, Tarry Cup and Colonial Cup Champions, announce the completion of a trade with the Quad City Mallards. Kalamazoo will acquire forward Glenn Detulleo (DEE-tool-e-o). In return the Quad City will receive forward Brett Pilkington and defenseman Mathieu Wathier (wat-tee-A).
An iron man for the Quad City Mallards during the 2005-06 season, Detulleo will bring dependability and a scoring touch to the K-Wings lineup. A six-year pro, Detulleo set a career high last season in both assists (53) and points (70).
"He (Detulleo) has the ability to create scoring opportunities for everyone around him," said Vice President/General Manager Paul L. Pickard. "Defensively, we have been sound all season and given Glenn's heart and intensity for the game will provide us with even more of an offensive arsenal."
This season, the native of Timmins, Ontario, has been the Mallards second most productive offensive weapon (13 points) and was leading the team with 11 assists. Detulleo started the year on a high note, tallying a point in six straight games, including scoring the game-winner for Quad City's first victory of the season against Bloomington on October 26th.
Detulleo will make his K-Wings debut this Wednesday (11/22) night as Kalamazoo starts a home and home series against the Port Huron Flags. Fans will have the chance to see Detulleo in his first appearance at Wings Stadium this Friday (11/24) at 7:30 p.m. versus the Flags. Kalamazoo will also be home this Sunday (11/26) for a 4 p.m. face-off against Detulleo's former team, the Quad City Mallards. Sunday coincides with K-Wing Kidz/Mascot Day presented by Meijer and WKFR.
Tickets for this weekend's contest and all K-Wing home games are available at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office during their regular business hours of Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fans can purchase their tickets by calling the (269) 345-5101 or logging onto www.ticketmaster.com.
