Hogs puckstopper named UHL Goalie of the Week

Rockford, Ill.- The United Hockey League announced on Monday that Rockford IceHogs goaltender Frederic Cloutier was named the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week for Week 6 of the United Hockey League season. Cloutier is the first IceHogs player to earn a weekly honor this season.

In two games played, Cloutier compiled a 2-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals against average and a .964 save percentage. The St. Honore, Quebec native was in between the pipes for Rockford's 5-1 win over Fort Wayne on Wednesday and 3-1 triumph over Kalamazoo Saturday.

On Wednesday Cloutier turned away 25 shots to cool off the Komets offense and gave Rockford its first win in three tries against Fort Wayne. In Saturday's contest against the defending champs, Cloutier stopped 29 of 30 shots to help lead Rockford over the Wings.

This season is Cloutier's sixth in the pro ranks. The former ECHL Goalie of the Year and Rookie of the Year is currently playing in his first season with Rockford and the UHL. Overall thus far, Cloutier has a record of 6-4-0 with 2.93 GAA and a .905 SPCT.

Next Home Game: Friday, Nov. 24 vs. Quad City Mallards. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game that are 21-and-older will receive a Free IceHogs Jersey Koozie courtesy of Bud Light and WIFR 23. Also, the Hogs and the Salvation Army are teaming up for their annual Food Drive. Each fan that brings a can of food to the game will receive a free $9 ticket voucher to the Wednesday, Dec. 13 game vs. Bloomington.
