K-Tribe Notes for Friday
June 17, 2011 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Kinston Indians News Release
Playoff Picture - With a Kinston win and a Myrtle Beach win Kinston is still just 1 1/5 games behind Myrtle Beach for first place in the Carolina League Southern Division. Myrtle Beach has a magic number of two and a Myrtle Beach win combined with a Kinston loss tonight could clinch the title for the Pelicans. Because of a rainout on June 9th on the last day of a four game series at Wilmington, Kinston will play just 69 games in the first half, Myrtle Beach will play 70.
Playoff Push - Kinston has had an amazing last month, going 22-8 and not losing back-to-back games since May 15th and 16th. On May 17th, Kinston started the day with a 14-22 record, 8 1/2 games out of first place in the Carolina League Southern Division.
