Kinston tries to salvage the final game of a three game series in Potomac today with All-Star Eric Berger toeing the rubber. Game time set for 1:05 PM

Afternoon Delight-Kinston loves playing under the afternoon sunlight as the K-Tribe is 10-6 during day games, including starting the season 4-0 in day games. Kinston is just 26-49 during night contests. Kinston is also 8-5 on Sunday this season, the only day of the week in which the K-Tribe owns a winning record.

Today's Starters:

KIN LHP Eric Berger (7-6, 2.35) The Carolina League All-Star was born 30 minutes down the road from Kinston in Goldsboro, NC. His father was in the military, stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force base. Berger only lived in Goldsboro until he was two before moving to California. He is second in the CL in ERA, fourth in strikeouts and fifth in IP. In his one start vs. Potomac on May 19, he went 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out five.

POT RHP Jeff Mandel (7-4, 3.79)

Jeff Mandel is making his 17th start of the season for the Nats, bringing with him the 8th best ERA in the CL. Mandel has gone just 1-0 with a 4.24 ERA in four starts since the All-Star break. In his one start vs. Kinston on May 19th, he got the win tossing seven innings, allowing three runs, on four hits, five walks and no strikeouts.
