
Justin Mapletoft Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Center Justin Mapletoft by the Islanders.
Mapletoft leads the Sound Tigers with six assists and is tied with Jeff Hamilton for the team's overall scoring lead with ten points. The Lloydminster, Saskatchewan native has also scored four goals in ten games this season including the tying goal with 1:10 left in the third period of this past Saturday's 2-1 overtime win in Utah. Saturday's equalizer improved Mapletoft's AHL-leading scoring streak to eight games with three goals and six assists in that time.
Mapletoft played 11 regular-season games with the Islanders last season posting two goals, two assists, four points and two penalty minutes. He also appeared in two Stanley Cup Playoff games last spring. Mapletoft had 13 goals, 26 assists, 39 points and 47 penalty minutes in 63 regular-season games and one goal, two assists, three points and six penalty minutes in seven Calder Cup Playoff games with the Sound Tigers last season.
The Sound Tigers will finish a stretch of five straight road games when they visit the Providence Bruins this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Philadelphia Phantoms this Sunday at 6:05 p.m. This weekend's games will be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM and at www.soundtigers.com. The Sound Tigers will return home for the second of four weekday matinees at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard when they host the Norfolk Admirals on Veterans' Day, next Tuesday, November 11th, at 4:05 p.m.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
