In an Election Day matinee at the Toyota Center, Alex Auld vetoed 27 of 28 Houston shots to lead Manitoba to a 2-1 victory, snapping the Moose's six-game winless skid... Manitoba got goals from Mikko Jokela, Fedor Fedorov and Nolan Baumgartner in his first game back with the Moose after being reclaimed off waivers from Pittsburgh... Auld's shutout bid was spoiled by a Zbynek Michalek power play goal with 74 seconds left in regulation.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Norfolk's 10-game road trip ends with five games in seven nights, beginning Wednesday in Binghamton (7:05 ET). The Admirals have scored a total of one goal in the first five games of the journey, and dating back to last year, they have been shut out in seven of their last 12 regular-season road games. The Senators hit the ice atop the East Division with 15 points, and a 3-0-0-2 record at the Broome County Arena. Binghamton's Josh Langfeld is one off the league scoring lead with 12 points on the year, and he ranks second with a plus-8 rating. Norfolk's top scorer is Marty Wilford, who also leads all AHL defensemen with nine assists. The Admirals won three of four from the B-Sens in 2002-03.

Cincinnati visits Grand Rapids in a West Division matchup on Wednesday (7:00 ET). The Mighty Ducks have never won in seven previous trips to Van Andel Arena (0-5-2-0), and have been outscored 31-14 in the Griffins' barn. The teams split their first two meetings of the 2003-04 season, with Keith Aucoin leading the Ducks with three points and Darryl Bootland and Mark Mowers scoring twice apiece for Grand Rapids.

Chocolatetown welcomes St. John's as the Maple Leafs continue a five-game road swing in Hershey on Wednesday (7:30 ET, 9:00 NT). The Leafs are unbeaten in five (4-0-1-0) after a pair of comeback wins over the weekend, and find themselves one point out of the top spot in the North Division. These clubs met in Newfoundland three weeks ago, with the Bears posting 5-4 and 1-0 victories at Mile One Stadium. Hershey's Peter Budaj is 2-0-0 (2.00, .939) against St. John's this year, and 2-3-1 (3.31, .901) against the rest of the AHL. Leafs rookie Kyle Wellwood has five points in his last four games, while St. John's native Harold Druken has four goals in his last two.
