Columbus Reassigns Anders Eriksson To Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (November 5, 2003) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Anders Eriksson to Syracuse.

Eriksson, 28, appeared in four games with Columbus this season without recording a point. In five games with Syracuse, Eriksson has tallied one goal, two assists and six penalty minutes. A member of the 1997-98 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, Eriksson has played in 346 NHL games with Detroit, Chicago, Florida and Toronto, tallying 14 goals, 89 assists and 140 penalty minutes. In 221 career AHL games with Adirondack, St. John's and Syracuse, Eriksson has tallied 19 goals, 103 assists and 253 penalty minutes. Originally Detroit's first choice, 22nd overall, in the 1993 Entry Draft, Eriksson was signed by Columbus as a free agent on October 10 after attending their training camp. He is the 13th first-round draft pick to appear with the Crunch.

Syracuse plays Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 7. Friday is Finding Nemo Night at the Crunch.
