Justin Bailey Named Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Kitchener Rangers forward Justin Bailey is the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 16, after leading the league in scoring with seven points in three games including four goals and three assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-2.

Bailey helped the Rangers earn five a possible six points in three games this weekend, extending the club's point-streak to 15-games with a 9-0-2-4 record since October 11. On Friday night, Bailey matched a career-high with a four-point performance scoring his second hat trick of the season while adding one assist in a 5-3 win over the Plymouth Whalers. He added a goal and an assist on the road Saturday in a 5-2 victory over the Erie Otters. His week wrapped up at home on Sunday night with an assist on Ryan MacInnis' game-tying goal late in the third period and a shootout goal before the Rangers fell short of victory in a 3-2 loss to the Sudbury Wolves.

Bailey, a 19-year-old from Williamsville, New York, is playing in his third OHL season with the Rangers. Selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft by his hometown Sabres, Bailey recently signed an entry-level contract with the club. He is currently tied for tenth in OHL scoring with 29 points in 19 games after producing 43 points in 54 games last season.
