The Mudcats send LHP Yean Carlos Gil to the bump tonight in game one of a weekend series with the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach. Gil is 0-8 with a 6.45 ERA over nine starts this season. He last pitched on 5/28 against Myrtle Beach at Five County Stadium and allowed four earned runs and five total on eight hits over three and 1/3 innings pitched. The Mudcats have averaged just 1.78 runs per game started by Gil this season. Gil starts in the opener tonight of what has now become a six game series. The series will include back-to-back doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday evening. Carolina has not yet played a game this season in Myrtle Beach. The doubleheaders will include two of the three postponed games originally scheduled for 5/12, 13 and 14.
Tonight's game begins at 7:05 p.m. at TicketReturn.com Field in Myrtle Beach and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:50 p.m.
