Winners of three straight and coming off a home sweep versus Frederick, the Mudcats continue a six game home stand today with game one of a three game series versus the Northern Division's Lynchburg Hillcats at Five County Stadium in Zebulon. Today's game is the first of three in the series and ninth of 17 total meetings between the two teams this season. It is also the first of nine second half meetings between the two teams. Carolina is currently 4-4 versus the Hillcats this season having split two four game series between 5/13 and 5/16 in Lynchburg and again between 5/20 and 5/23 in Zebulon. Today's game will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. and will air live on WDWG, 98.5 FM and online at carolinamudcats.com via TuneIn Radio. ICYMI: Ryan Aguilar went 2-for-2 with three walks, three runs, two doubles and three RBI, Tristen Lutz went 2-for-5 with two RBI and Aaron Ashby pitched through the seventh with two runs on five hits as the Mudcats finished off a home sweep of the Frederick Keys 8-3 on Saturday night at Five County Stadium. The sweep was Carolina's fourth of the season and lifted the Mudcats into a four way tie for first in the second half standings. It was also Carolina's second sweep versus the Keys in Zebulon this season as they finished with a perfect 6-0 record against the Keys at home with Saturday marking the final regular season meeting at Five County Stadium between the two teams this season.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: Carolina improved to 4-3 in sweeps this season after finishing off a three game sweep against the Keys last night. The sweep was Carolina's third at home this season; it was also their second home sweep of the season versus Frederick as Carolina finished the year a perfect 6-0 against the Keys in Zebulon.

The Mudcats are on pace to set a league and franchise record for strikeouts for the third straight season as they are on pace for over 1,400 strikeouts this season. Carolina batters combined to total a CL and franchise record 1,311 strikeouts last season; breaking the previous CL and franchise record of 1,245 SO set by Carolina in 2017.

AG DEPARTMENT: Ryan Aguilar has hit safely in 10 of his last 13 and is batting .404/.472/.681 with a 1.153 OPS over his last 13 games (19-for-47, 12 R, 7 2B, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 6 BB, 12 SO). He also reached safely in all five of his AB on 7/6 vs. FRE after going 2-for-2 with 3 R, 3 BB, 2 2B and 3 RBI... Aguilar started in center field for the seventh time this season in game one of a doubleheader on 7/5 vs. FRE. He has, however, been Carolina's primary first baseman this season and leads CL first baseman in fielding this year (75 G, .994 PCT, 4 E). He then finished the month hitting just .151/.182/.151 with a .333 OPS (8-for-53, 3 R, 0 XBH, 6 RBI, 17 SO) over the final 13 games last month between 6/13 and 6/30.

LIGHTS OUT: Carolina's starting rotation is 6-5 with a 2.41 ERA over their last 14 starts and since Noah Zavolas pitched through a nine inning, complete-game shutout on 6/23 in Potomac (75.1 IP, 19 BB, 62 SO, 1.04 WHIP). The starters have also combined for two complete-game shutouts since 6/23 (Zavolas 6/23 at POT & Taugner 7/5 vs. FRE).
