Last time out...
Wednesday's game was suspended after 1/2 inning due to rain, tied 0-0. The Freedom rode another great outing from Cody Gray (3-0) to defeat the Crushers by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. Gray went seven innings of one-run ball, scattering five hits along the way. He struck out six batters and did not walk anyone to pick up the win. The Freedom are now 5-0 when Gray starts. Florence took an early 2-0 lead on a RBI single from Collins Cuthrell and a RBI grounder from Sam Eberle. Lake Erie tallied a run in the first on a Jose Barraza RBI double but got shut down by Gray after that. Florence added a run in the fifth on another Cuthrell RBI single. Then they tallied three in the sixth as Travis Weaver delivered a two-RBI single and Zac Mitchell drove in a RBI double. Lake Erie tallied a run on a wild pitch that scored Trevor Stevens in the eighth but that was it for the Crushers offensively as Ed Kohout sent the side down in order in the ninth.
For Starters Game One...
