
ThunderBolts Lose in Ten at Rockford

LOVES PARK, IL - In a game that featured 23 runs, 30 hits and five lead changes, the Rockford Aviators outlasted the ThunderBolts 12-11 on Michael Hur's two-run homer in the bottom of the tenth.
The ThunderBolts (25-37) struck first on Coco Johnson's solo homer in the first. They made it 2-0 when Max White and Cody Keefer hit back-to-back doubles.
Rockford (36-26) responded with a three-run second. Elijah Trail picked up a pair of RBIs on a double and scored on Tyler Smith's single.
Windy City came back with a run in the third on a Keefer RBI groundout and one in the fourth on Tyler Clark's run-scoring base hit.
In the fourth, the Aviators broke out. They loaded the bases with two outs on two walks and a single before Devon Rodriguez's grand slam made it 7-4 Rockford. They scored three more times the next inning with Colin Shaw and Hur picking up RBI hits and Smith scoring on a wild pitch.
Down 10-4, the Bolts made another run. They scored four times in the sixth as Johnson picked up a sacrifice fly and Austin Gallagher and Max White picked up RBI singles. Ransom LaLonde's homer to lead off the seventh inning made it 10-9 and Clark's RBI double tied the score.
The game went to extra innings tied at ten when Gallagher put the ThunderBolts on top with a solo home run.
Shaw led off the bottom of the tenth with a walk before Hur hit one over the left field wall for the win.
Patrick Dolan (3-1) pitched one inning and picked up the win. Joel Lima (2-3) did not record an out in the loss.
The ThunderBolts will return home on Friday to begin a six-game homestand. First into town will be the River City Rascals. The Bolts will get their first look at the Rascals on Friday with Austin Wright (3-8, 4.34) on the mound against Tim Koons (7-0, 3.43). It is Budweiser Fill 'R Up Friday with drink deals all night at Standard Bank Stadium. First pitch is at 7:05 and the broadcast can be heard through wcthunderbolts.com.
