Last time out...

The Freedom fell by a score of 3-1 to Rockford on Saturday. Rockford got all the runs they needed off Florence starter Chuck Weaver (4-5) in the third inning. Kyle Dhanani singled to start the frame. Ryan Breen drew a walk and Tanner Witt walked to load the bases. A Michael Hur single drove in the first run of the game and one out later a fielder's choice off the bat of Dusty Robinson made it 2-0 in favor of the Aviators. An error by left fielder Zak Blair on a fly ball off the bat of Kenny Bryant allowed Rockford to score another run and take a 3-0 lead. Florence responded in the bottom of the third with their only run of the game. With one out Preston Overbey doubled for his first professional hit. Chance Ross delivered a two-out RBI single to make the score 3-1 in favor of Rockford. Ryan Zimmerman (4-4) went eight innings, giving up one run on four hits, walking one and striking out seven to earn the win.

For Starters...

Michael O'Neal makes his fourth start of the season for the Freedom and his first professional start on the road. In his most recent outing O'Neal got a no-decision as he went four and two thirds innings, giving up two runs on five hits in a 5-2 win over the Schaumburg Boomers on July 23. O'Neal pitched two seasons at Auburn University after transferring from Chattahoochee Valley Community College. He threw 10 complete games for Chattahoochee Valley in 2011 as a freshman and posted a 3.65 ERA as a sophomore in 2012. O'Neal had an outstanding season for Auburn in 2013 as he went 8-4 with a 2.73 ERA in 14 starts with two complete games. He held opponents to a .223 batting average in 2013. His 89 innings pitched led the Tigers and was eighth in the SEC.

Mining...

The first game of the series was an 11-inning loss and the next two games were one-run wins, including a walk-off home run from Rob Kelly in the rubber match.

Road woes...
