Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have signed forward Rick Judson to a contract.

Judson, a Toledo native, will be entering his ninth season with the Storm. He is the Toledo Storm All-Time leader in games played with 388, assists with 232, and points with 413. Rick is just nine goals shy of tying Andrew Williamson for the most goals in Storm history. Judson discussed returning for his ninth year, "I enjoy playing here in Toledo. The fans here are terrific and are always behind this team."

Head Coach and Director of Player Personal Nick Vitucci talked about Judson, "His experience and leadership are crucial to this hockey club. I also believe that he still has a lot to contribute to this team, and there is no one stronger on the puck than Rick."

Fresh out of college at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Judson saw his first pro action in two games with Toledo in 1991-92. The following year, Rick became a regular in the Storm lineup netting 51 points in just 56 games. Judson would see time in a Storm sweater every campaign from that 1991-92 stint all the way through 1997-98. The best season for Rick with Toledo was 1993-94 when he posted a career best 49 assists and 88 points. The season of 1992-93 also was the start of five straight seasons in which he would post over 50 points with the Storm. Last year, Rick had 11 goals and 16 assists.
