Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – Louisiana IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon today announced the team has agreed to terms with rookie center, Pascal Pelletier for the 2004-05 season.

A 21 year-old native of Labrador City, Newfoundland, Pelletier racked up impressive numbers during his last two seasons in the QMJHL. While playing for Baie-Comeau, Pelletier had a breakthrough season in 2002-03, scoring 46 goals and 55 assists for 101 points in 67 games. Proving he was no fluke, the 5'10" center followed up with a 91 point campaign (39-52-91) in 64 games in 2003-04. Pelletier attended Minnesota Wild camp in 2003 and was a teammate of IceGators defenseman Max Fortunus while at Baie-Comeau.

"Pascal Pelletier has shown the ability to put up big numbers in the QJMHL and we hope he will be the same type of offensive force for the IceGators," said Gordon. "With 5 days to go until the start of training camp, I am very happy with the way this team is coming together."
