
Josh Davies Signs Amateur Tryout Contract with AHL Charlotte

Swift Current, Sask. - The Charlotte Checkers, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Florida Panthers, announced that they have signed Josh Davies to an amateur tryout. The Panthers drafted Davies with the 186th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
Davies, from Airdrie, Alta., set a new career high with 20 goals during the 2022-23 season. He also added 14 assists for 34 points in 62 games.
The physicality that Davies is known for was on display throughout the 2022-23 season as he racked up 131 penalty minutes, third most in the WHL.
Drafted 54th overall by the Broncos in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft, Davies has brought a mixture of scoring and physicality with 79 points (42-37-79) and 268 penalty minutes in 149 games.
Charlotte currently sits third in the AHL's Atlantic Division with a record of 35-23-3-3. They have eight games remaining in the regular season, beginning tomorrow when they host the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Davies joins Owen Pickering and Connor Hvidston in heading to the AHL following the Broncos season coming to a close.
