Winterhawks Add Hudson Darby and Aiden Sotas to Active Roster

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club announced they have recalled forwards Hudson Darby and Aiden Sotas from their respective Canadian clubs for the duration of the 2023 WHL Playoffs.

Darby, 16, returns to Portland from the Swift Current Legionnaires U18 program of the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL). He ranked fifth in team scoring with 34 points in 32 games in Swift Current, including a team-high five points in five postseason games. Originally selected in the fifth round, #103 overall, of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Darby also appeared in seven games with the Hawks during the regular season.

Sotas, 17, played 20 games with Portland to start the season before he was reassigned to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) in January. The Birtle, Man. native produced three points in 24 MJHL games this year. Originally selected in the ninth round, #198 overall, of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Sotas returns to the Rose City ready for his first taste of WHL playoff hockey.
