Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba - The Brandon Wheat Kings have hired certified Hockey Canada Skill Coach Riley Dudar to the hockey staff as the team's first Director of Player Development. The Winnipeg product joins the organization after working in hockey operations as a Scout with the USHL's Chicago Steel as well as serving as the Director of Player Personnel for the MJHL's Winkler Flyers.
"I'm extremely excited to join the Brandon Wheat Kings organization," said Dudar. "Over the past few years, I've really gotten to know the Jacobson family and the hockey community in Brandon. More recently, getting to know Marty and the coaching staff has me very motivated to do everything I can to help this team and its players get to the next level."
Dudar is no stranger to the Hockey scene in Manitoba as he is the founder of Evolution Hockey, a licensed Hockey Canada skill development program based out of Winnipeg. He is also a High Performance 1 Coach and a certified mental game coaching professional that has worked for numerous Hockey associations including Hockey Canada, IIHF, Ontario Hockey federation, Hockey Manitoba and Hockey Alberta.
"Player development is a top priority for the future success of our organization," said Owner and Governor Jared Jacobson. "I've been impressed with Riley's work at the WCHA (Western Canada Hockey Academy) with both junior and NHL players that train with him during the summer months. He is fantastic with video training and will be a good asset for our players and staff."
Dudar joins a coaching staff that includes Head Coach Marty Murray, Assistant Coach's Mark Derlago and Del Pedrick and Goalie Coach Tyler Plante.
Riley will also join the Wheat Kings scouting staff as well as occupy the role of Director of Player Development with the WCHA in Brandon at the J&G Homes Arena.
