Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Space Cowboys sported Captain America-themed uniforms Saturday night as part of Marvel's Defenders of the Diamond.

Jose Siri's offensive output since being optioned to the Space Cowboys has resembled that of a superhuman and he struck once again vs. the El Paso Chihuahuas.

Siri hit his sixth home run in his 10th game with the Space Cowboys, coming in a 6-5 loss to El Paso.

Since his first appearance with the Space Cowboys on June 28, Siri is tied for first in the Pacific Coast League with six home runs, is second with 15 RBI and third with a 1.240 OPS.

Siri's first-inning solo home run traveled 420 feet to left field. It helped the Space Cowboys jump out to a 5-1 lead through three innings.

Lewis Brinson followed Siri's homer with a double and Taylor Jones drove in Brinson a batter later with a double of his own.

Enmanuel Valdez drove in a pair of runs with a double in the second. Valdez has driven in a run in five straight games, with seven RBI over that stretch. He has 24 RBI since joining the Space Cowboys on June 7, which is tied for seventh-best in the PCL during that span.

Jones hit a solo home run in the fourth to put the Space Cowboys up 5-1, which was his fourth of the season.

El Paso scored five of its six runs in the fifth inning. CJ Hinojosa and Eguy Rosario combined to go 4-for-8 with a double and three RBI.

Brandon Bielak got the start for the Space Cowboys and lowered his ERA to 2.91, striking out three and allowing one run through four innings.

Enoli Paredes lowered his ERA to 0.84 with two scoreless innings, striking out three.

The Space Cowboys and El Paso close out their six-game series at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, with JP France scheduled to face Chihuahuas righty Pedro Avila.
