Jose Reyes to Join Bisons on Rehab Assignment

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop JOSE REYES will join the Buffalo Bisons on Friday, June 21 as part of his Major League injury rehab assignment. Reyes is scheduled to play three games with the Bisons, Friday, June 21 - Sunday, June 23.

The Bisons host the Durham Bulls for a fridaynightbash!® on Friday with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Saturday is the team's annual Star Wars Night at 6:05 p.m. while Sunday's contest is a Busters Kids Club Sunday afternoon game with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch.

Reyes, 30, is a four-time MLB All-Star and a 2011 National League batting champion. He was acquired by the Blue Jays on November 19, 2012 in a trade with the Miami Marlins. In 11 seasons in the big leagues with the New York Mets, Marlins and Blue Jays, Reyes has hit .292 with 93 home runs, 485 RBI and 415 stolen bases in 1,220 games. He has led the National League in triples four times and stolen bases three times.

Reyes was injured on April 12 while sliding into second base in a Toronto game against the Kansas City Royals. In 10 games with the Blue Jays this season, he hit .395 (15-38) with a home run and five RBI. He began his MLB injury rehab assignment on Monday for Single-A Dunedin of the Florida State League. He hit in all three games with Dunedin, averaging .417 (5-12) with one RBI and three runs scored.
