Jon Sim Returned to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn, November 18, 2010 – The New York Islanders announced today that forward Jon Sim has been returned on loan to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Sim, 33, has two points (one goal, one assist) with ten penalty minutes in fifteen games this season with the Islanders. The New Glasgow, NS, native also posted five goals in just four AHL games with Bridgeport this year.

Last year Sim scored 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 77 games during his 12th NHL season and his third with the Islanders.

The Dallas Stars drafted Sim in the third round, 70th overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. In 446 career NHL games with Dallas, the Nashville Predators, the Los Angeles Kings, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Florida Panthers, the Atlanta Thrashers and the Islanders, Sim has scored 136 points (74 goals, 62 assists) and posted 302 penalty minutes.
