Abbotsford Heat News Release

ABBOTSFORD BC - Today the Abbotsford Heat is pleased to announce the launch of 'The Abbotsford Heat Community Assists Program'.

In conjunction and with the support of the United Way of the Fraser Valley, The Abbotsford Heat Community Assists Program' will allow area corporations to purchase a block of tickets to an upcoming Abbotsford Heat home game. These tickets are then sent to the United Way, which then hands them out to agencies throughout the Fraser Valley, with the goal being to get people out to games that may not have the ability to get there on their own.

Lori Masse, the Director of Resource Development for the United Way of the Fraser Valley, is excited about this program. "It is such an incredible opportunity for us to be able to offer our local member agencies these tickets, says Masse. "Their clients, who have never had the opportunity to go to a Heat game, are thrilled. It is wonderful to be able to give something directly to the people using the services, and hear the stories about how attending a local hockey game can give people such joy."

Tom Mauthe, President of the Abbotsford Heat: "The Abbotsford Heat is proud to partner with the United Way of the Fraser Valley in support of the Community Assists program.  Together we have the ability to have a positive impact on our community.   People who wouldn't usually have the chance to experience professional hockey are provided the opportunity through the generosity of the organizations that sponsor this great program".

Already two companies, Vedder Transportation and Pro Show Audio/Visual Broadcast, have provided the Community with a big assist, as 1000 tickets have been sent to the United Way for distribution. To get your company involved, please contact Delany Dunn, Manager of Ticket Sales, at ddunn@abbotfordheat.com or directly via phone at 604-743-5071.
