
Oilers Recall Gerber; Barons Recall Pitton

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, recalled goaltender Martin Gerber, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini announced today. In a separate transaction, the Barons recalled goaltender Bryan Pitton from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.
Gerber has played the lion's share of the minutes for the Barons this season, playing in 13 of the team's 17 games. In those games, he has a 9-4-0 record, 2.56 goals against average, .911 saves percentage and one shutout. His 798 minutes played ranks him third among American Hockey League goaltenders, while his nine wins puts him second.
Pitton attended the Barons training camp and played in two games for Oklahoma City, posting a 1-1-0 mark. With Stockton this season, he is 4-0-0 with a 1.91 goals against average and .922 saves percentage along with one shutout. His 1.91 goals against average is second among goaltenders in the ECHL.
The Barons are in the midst of a season-long eight-game homestand. Faceoff tomorrow night against Texas, the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, is 7:05 p.m. It's Military and Protective Services Appreciation Night and the Barons will wear special red, white and blue uniforms that will be available for bids in a live auction following the game. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Limbs for Life. Military and protective services members may present their ID cards for a $4 discount for this game. Discount does not apply to $10 seats.
Oklahoma City wraps up the weekend Sunday afternoon at 5:05 p.m. against the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. Following the game Sunday, fans will have the chance to skate with the entire Barons roster following the game. Fans may bring their own skates or skates will be available for rent at no charge.
