Johnston Homers In Back-To-Back Games But Snappers Fall To Kernels 7-5

BELOIT, WI - The Beloit Snapper (16-18) hit a pair of home runs on Friday Night. One from Connor Scott, his first since his injury in May, and one from Troy Johnston, who homered in back-to-back games, but it wasn't enough as the Cedar Rapids Kernels (16-18) won their third in a row, 7-5.

After the third inning, the Snappers held a three-run lead and got a boost in the fourth when Johnston hit his third home run of the season to right field to make it 4-1, Beloit. Scott followed suit in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo home run to center field that gave the Snappers a 5-1 lead.

The Kernels would rally back and score six unanswered runs with four home runs over the last three innings to capture a 7-5 win.

Beloit's Top Performers: Kameron Misner went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks. Zach McCambley pitched a quality start with six innings, one earned run, and 10 strikeouts. In 22 innings at home, McCambley has not walked a batter.
