Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Space Cowboys hit two home runs Saturday night.

The first was a line drive off the bat of Pedro León that cleared the left-field wall by mere feet. The other was a no-doubt three-run blast from JJ Matijevic in the ninth.

The pair of homers came in an 8-5 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes at Constellation Field.

León's eighth home run of the year was a two-run shot in the fourth that knotted the game at 2-2. Albuquerque scored six unanswered runs leading up to the ninth.

Corey Julks led the inning off with a double, extending his hitting streak to 17 games. It's the longest active hitting streak in the Pacific Coast League and matches Matijevic for the longest from the Space Cowboys this year. Julks has hit .360 (27x75) with nine homers and 17 RBI throughout the streak.

León followed Julks' double with a walk, leading up to the three-run homer from Matijevic - his ninth of the year. Matijevic's home run traveled 403 feet to right-center.

LJ Hatch, Carlos Pérez and Coco Montes each hit solo homers for Albuquerque.

The Space Cowboys and Isotopes close out their six-game series at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday at Constellation Field, with the Space Cowboys scheduled to start JP France.
