Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK - Born in Dallas and educated at Baylor, Houston Astros right-hander Jason Jennings will make his first Triple-A start in six years when he suits up for a rehabilitation with the Round Rock Express on Tuesday.

Jennings, who has been on the disabled list since mid-April with right elbow flexor tendonitis, last appeared for the Colorado Springs SkySox during the 2001 season, posting a 7-8 record. He went on to carve out 58 wins with the Colorado Rockies over the next five years.

The 28-year-old allowed four runs over 12 innings of two starts for Houston before being placed on the disabled list. For the Astros, Jennings has fanned 12 on four walks and 10 hits and carries a 3.00 earned-run average.

Jennings made his first rehabilitation start with Double-A Corpus Christi on May 17, tossing 54 pitches over five innings against the Midland Rockhounds. He scattered three hits with a walk and two strikeouts without allowing a run in the no-decision.

Jennings was named the 1999 National Player of the Year after his junior year at Baylor. His father, Jim Jennings, played for the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Rangers, and his grandfather, James Jennings, was the long-time public address announcer for the Dallas Cowboys.
