Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK - Stephen Randolph's pumping left first said it all.

Minutes after entering in the ninth with the bases loaded, no outs and the Iowa Cubs on the brink of tearing down Round Rock's 5-1, Randolph skipped off the mound at The Dell Diamond on Monday with his second save of the year.

After Scott Sauerbeck loaded the bases in the ninth, Randolph, who gave up a ninth-inning grand slam in his last home outing, immediately got Mike Fontenot to fly out to left. Mike Kinkade followed up win a dribbler back to Randolph, who flicked the ball home to Eric Munson, who lasered a throw to first for the final out.

The save preserved Philip Barzilla's team-high fifth win on a night when the left-hander worked seven strong innings. He allowed just three hits, struck out three and didn't give up a walk or a run after the second inning.

Danny Klassen went 2-for-4 with a double, Josh Anderson went 2-for-3 with a double and Eric Munson cranked out his sixth homer of the year.

The Express struck first, scoring two in the bottom of the first against Iowa's Wade Miller. Chris Burke worked a lead-off walk and Brooks Conrad ripped his 12th double to right field, pushing Burke across. Danny Klassen followed up with an RBI-double through the right side.

A pair of doubles against Barzilla in the top of the second closed the score at 2-1 before Josh Anderson doubled and scored in the bottom of the frame. Mark Saccomanno's one-out double in the sixth pushed Cody Ransom across to ramp the lead up to three runs.

Munson's eighth-inning blast extended the lead to four runs.
