Jefferson's Big Day Thwarted by BayHawks Victory

Des Moines, Iowa- The Iowa Wolves (18-22) dropped its eighth straight contest Sunday, falling to the Erie BayHawks (24-19) 109-98 at Wells Fargo Arena.

Today's contest marked the third straight game the Wolves have failed to reach the 100-point mark offensively.

Amile Jefferson led the way for Iowa, finishing with 24 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 9-of-14 from the floor. It was the two-way forward's G League-leading 29th double-double of the season.

The Wolves led by as many as nine points in the first half but were unable to keep the game close down the stretch.

Perry Jones III came off the bench to record 20 points and five rebounds for the Wolves. It was the former first round draft pick's first 20-point game since scoring 24 points on Nov. 27 against the South Bay Lakers.

Anthony Brown finished with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. The two-way guard also led the Wolves with three three-pointers made on four attempts.

As a team the Wolves shot 42.9% from the field and 31.8% from the three-point line, both below season averages.

Andrew White III led the BayHawks in scoring with 19 points and five rebounds. Three other starters for Erie finished six points off the team-high.

The Wolves begin a four-game road trip against the Windy City Bulls on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
