Jeffers Explodes for 32 Points, 18 Rebounds in Win

TULSA, OK- Othyus Jeffers scored 32 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Iowa Energy to their fourth win of the season Friday night as the Energy beat Tulsa 123-111. Iowa, playing without star guard Curtis Stinson (ankle), had four players score 20 or more points in the win.

Tulsa opened up a 10 point lead late in the 1st half on a Robert Vaden 3-pointer. A Chris Lofton layup closed the gap to six points as Tulsa took at 62-56 lead into the locker room for halftime. Jeffers had 21 points and 8 rebounds at the break for Iowa while Vaden scored 14 in the half for the home team.

Iowa took the lead at 71-70 with 7:15 left in the 3rd quarter on a Lofton 3-pointer. The guard out of Tennessee, who was the Energy's 1st round draft pick, nailed five 3-pointers in the game and finished with a season-high 28 points.

The Energy opened the fourth quarter on a 16-7 run to break open a tight game. Jeffers and guard Kyle Weaver combined for 11 points during that stretch.

Weaver finished with 20 points and 6 assists. Energy center Courtney Sims had 22 points and 10 rebounds while holding Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Cole Aldrich to just 8 points and 4 rebounds on the night.

Tulsa was led by Vaden and Larry Owens, who each finished with 22 points.

Iowa outscored Tulsa by 22 points at the free throw line on the night, and outrebounded the hosts 48-39.
