NEW YORK, Nov. 26, 2010 - Miami Heat center Dexter Pittman was assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat's NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the sixth time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Pittman, a rookie out of Texas.

Pittman (6-11, 308) has not appeared in any regular season games for the Heat this season, and averaged 3.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 11.3 minutes in four preseason games. Miami's second-round pick (32nd overall) in the 2010 NBA Draft, Pittman averaged 6.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in three NBA Summer League games.

Over a four-year career at Texas, Pittman averaged 6.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 134 games, setting the school's all-time record for career field goal percentage (.623). A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, Pittman also ranks eighth on the Longhorns' career blocked shots list (124).
