Houston Aeros News Release

ROCKFORD --- Jeff Taffe scored the lone goal for the Houston Aeros in a 4-1 loss to the Rockford IceHogs at the BMO Bank Harris Center on Saturday.

Goaltender Scott Greenham made 37 saves in his first AHL game after signing a pro tryout with the Aeros earlier in the day.

Taffe put Houston up 1-0 with 2:35 gone by in the first period with a power play goal. Jon DiSalvatore and Chay Genoway earned the assists on Taffe's 16th goal of the season as Houston scored first for the seventh time in the last eight games.

Jeremy Morin knotted the score with 33 seconds left in the second period with his 16th goal of the season. The Hogs took the lead at 6:01 of the third period on Rob Flick's goal just nine seconds after a Houston penalty expired. Phillipe Paradis added a goal at 12:31 of the third to give the IceHogs a two-goal lead and then added an empty-net goal with 2:27 left in the game to seal the win.

The Aeros continue the current four-game road trip at Chicago on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Allstate Arena.
