
Gustafsson Recalled by Flyers

Defensemen Erik Gustafsson has been recalled by the Philadelphia Flyers from his loan to the Adirondack Phantoms according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. Gustafsson was tapped following the Phantoms 1-0 win on Friday night at Wilkes-Barre. He will eligible to play in Philadelphia's game tonight (Saturday) against Montreal.
Gustafsson is a second-year pro out of Northern Michigan University. He has played in 27 games with the Flyers this season. He scored his first NHL goal on February 16 vs. Buffalo. Gustafsson was with the Phantoms again from February 17 through March 3 and was then recalled again by the Flyers playing in nine more NHL games in his latest NHL stint from March 4 through 18. The Kvissleby, Sweden native led the Phantoms in assists last year with 44 and was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team.
This year with Adirondack he has played in 20 games due to spending most of his time with Philadelphia. On his most recent stint with Adirondack from this past Tuesday through Friday he added one more game to that total. He has scored one goal and 11 assists with the Phantoms in 2011-12. He had the secondary assist on the only goal in the 1-0 win at Wilkes-Barre on Friday.
Adirondack is in the thick of the Eastern Conference race and currently stands four points back of the last playoff spot with 11 games remaining in the regular season. The Phantoms' next games are Saturday, March 24 against Springfield on Star Wars Night followed by a Sunday, March 25 matchup with Binghamton on Dax's first birthday celebration.
