Houston Dash News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell has been called into the upcoming United States Women's National Team training camp to close the 2023 calendar year.
Campbell and the USA will face China PR on Dec. 2 at DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (3 p.m. ET on TNT, Telemundo, Universo, Max and Peacock) and again on Dec. 5 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas (7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET on TruTV, Universo, Max and Peacock).
Campbell, who was crowned the 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year earlier this month, will rejoin the USWNT for the first time since November 2021. The Kennesaw, Georgia native has seven appearances for the USWNT with four shutouts and earned a Bronze Medal with during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Campbell made her USWNT debut in April 2017 in a friendly against Russia at Shell Energy Stadium (previously BBVA Stadium).
Campbell made the most regular season saves in league play this year, nearly missing out on century mark at 91 saves for the Dash. The shot stopper became the all-time appearance leader for the Dash with 126 appearances to date and served as the backbone for one of the best defensive units in NWSL history. Houston's defensive unit conceded the fewest goals in the regular season with just 18 goals allowed across 22 games - the third lowest mark all-time in league play behind the North Carolina Courage in 2018 and matched by Portland in 2021, who matched the record with 17 goals allowed through 24 games.
Additionally, Campbell is one of six Best XI selections named to the USWNT roster ahead of matches in Florida and North Texas. Campbell played every minute of the 2023 campaign becoming just the second goalkeeper in league history to record three ironwoman seasons and the first to do so with one club.
