Kansas City Current Roster Update

November 20, 2023 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) - Kansas City Current News Release

KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Current have updated the status of the club's roster heading into the offseason. After the recent announcements of new contracts for forward Alex Pfeiffer and defender Gabrielle Robinson, the Current now have 20 players under contract at least through the 2024 season.

The Current have exercised the 2024 option for forward midfielder Claire Lavogez. The French international made her return from ACL injury September 1 and played in four matches down the stretch in 2023 for Kansas City.

Defender Izzy Rodriguez is out of contract but has received a new offer from the club. With only two years of experience, she does not qualify for Free Agency through the NWSL/NWSLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Midfielders Chardonnay Curran and Rylan Childers, and defenders Jenna Winebrenner and Croix Soto are out of contract and the club has waived its rights to the players.

Midfielders Sam Mewis and Desiree Scott and defender Mallory Weber are Free Agents under the CBA and are free to sign with any team in the league, including Kansas City. Defender Addisyn Merrick and goalkeeper Cassie Miller are Restricted Free Agents. They are free to negotiate with another NWSL team, but the Current would have the right to match any offer.

Goalkeepers (2): AD Franch, Jordan Silkowitz
