EL SEGUNDO - The starting backcourt of Osiris Eldridge and Jeremy Wise led the Bakersfield Jam (12-10) to a 110-107 road victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders (17-8) Saturday night.
The D-Fenders came back from being down by 19 points in the first half to set up a thrilling finish. Down by three, Gerald Green connected from downtown to tie the game at 106 apiece with 40 seconds remaining in the game. Jeremy Wise and Juan Pattillo went on to convert clutch free throws to give Bakersfield the lead and Green missed a long three at the buzzer that would have tied it.
Eldridge scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed eight boards. Wise recorded 23 points and dished out eight assists. Juan Pattillo finished the game with his fourth double-double of the season, tallying 18 points and 10 rebounds. Adrian Thomas added 13 points off the bench and Toronto Raptors assignee Solomon Alabi had 10.
Mardy Collins led Los Angeles in scoring this evening with 26 points. Gerald Green contributed 25 points off the bench and Elijah Millsap had 20. Orien Greene added 13 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Zach Andrews posted 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
The two teams meet again for their third straight game against each other on Thursday, January 26 at 7 p.m. PT in Bakersfield.
