
D-Fenders fall to Bakersfield

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders cut a 19-point deficit down to one with 8 seconds remaining but fell 110-107 to the Bakersfield Jam in the second game of a back-to-back between the teams on Saturday night.
Mardy Collins helped guide the D-Fenders (17-8) offense all night after he totaled 26 points (11-20 FG) and handed out four assists. Teammate Gerald Green (25 points (9-15 FG), 3 rebounds), who played off the bench due to a stomach illness, paved the comeback trail for Los Angeles when he poured in 17 third quarter points to cut the deficit to eight entering the final frame.
As an encore from his triple-double performance last night, Elijah Millsap, who pulled the D-Fenders within one point after he sank a free throw with 8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, tallied 20 points (5 fourth quarter points), five rebounds and five assists. Additionally, Orien Greene finished with 13 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while Zach Andrews added a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds in the loss at Toyota Sports Center.
Bakersfield (12-10) saw Osiris Eldridge (24 points, 8 rebounds) and Jeremy Wise (23 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists) lead the starting offense tonight. Meanwhile, Juan Pattillo tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds and Adrian Thomas chipped in 13 points off the bench in the win. The D-Fenders next play January 26 at 7 p.m. in their third straight contest against the Jam. The game will be available for viewing on NBA Futurecast.
