
Jam Open New Year with Win over Flash

Orem, UT - The Bakersfield Jam (10-6) ended the Utah Flash's (7-6) three-game winning streak in tonight's game with a final score of 99-83. The Jam led for the majority of the game with the largest lead of 18 occurring in the fourth quarter.
The Jam came out strong offensively holding the Flash to a 15-4 early lead. The Flash jumped back into the game, and ended the quarter only one point down with the score at 20-19. Brandon Costner tied the game with two free throws with less than eight minutes in the first half. The Jam quickly regained the lead, but scoring went back and forth between the teams with a final first half score of 46-35. The Flash bench led the scoring in the first half with 19 points.
The Flash came out in the second half and managed to hold the Jam to just 16 points in the third quarter. Utah scored 24 points of their own and trailed by only three at the end of the third. But Jeremy Wise was just too much for the Flash in the fourth, scoring 18 points in the period on 7-11 shooting, including 3 three-pointers to lead Bakesfield to their fourth straight victory.
Wise was the game's high scorer with 25 points, followed by Trey Johnson with 24 points. The Jam's newly assignee from the Lakers, Devin Ebanks, had the games only double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Kevin Kruger led the Flash's scoring with 18 points, half of those points coming from three pointers. Nkem Ojougboh had an impressive 11 rebounds.
Bakersfield is now 8-2 in the last 10 games. This is the Jam's second game against the Flash this season. The series is tied 1-1. They play again on Monday night at 7 P.M. at the UCCU Events Center in Orem, Utah.
