Jam Fall to D-Fenders in Los Angeles

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Bakersfield Jam (19-9) fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (9-19), 136-126, Friday night at the Toyota Sports Center. Phoenix Suns assignees Reggie Bullock (26 points, 11 rebounds) and Archie Goodwin (24 points, 10 rebounds) each finished with a double-double.

Goodwin and Mac Koshwal paced the Jam in the opening minutes of the game as they combined for 12 of Bakersfield's first 14 points. Trailing 34-31 after one quarter of play, the Jam fell behind by 13 points in the second quarter and went into the half down 66-58.

Bakersfield struggled in the third as they shot just 29.2 percent from the floor, compared to Los Angeles' 60.9 percent, and got outscored 38-29. The Jam began the final frame trailing 104-87, but went on 10-3 run to start the period and had their 17-point deficit cut to 10 (107-97) at the 9:03 mark. Bakersfield fought hard down the stretch, but the closest they came was within seven points with just under four minutes remaining in the game.

Jerel McNeal finished with 18 points while Casey Prather and Xavier Munford tallied 13 points apiece. Mac Koshwal posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds and Joe Jackson recorded 10 points and a team-high six assists.

Los Angeles Lakers assignee Ryan Kelly led the way for the D-Fenders with a game-high 30 points. Vander Blue had 27 points while Roscoe Smith recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Both teams will remain in El Segundo to face each other again tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. PT.
